The 4C marked Alfa Romeo's modern return to the United States, and it was an unusually uncompromising way to do it. Built around a full carbon-fiber monocoque and assembled in Modena, it paired a mid-mounted turbocharged four-cylinder with rear-wheel drive, unassisted steering, and a remarkably low curb weight. Construction like this was still largely the territory of contemporary supercars.

The timing makes the 4C even more interesting today. It arrived as sports cars were becoming heavier, more assisted, and increasingly digital, while Alfa spent its money on the carbon-fiber monocoque and removing weight everywhere else. There was no power steering, no backup camera, and even the factory stereo was a simple Alpine unit. The result was a mid-engined sports car weighing roughly 2,500 pounds, built with a singular focus on the driver. The Coupe disappeared from North America after 2018 with no direct successor, and it is difficult to imagine a car this uncompromising being offered anywhere near its original price again. The 4C struggled to find its audience when new, but its reputation has changed considerably since, with enthusiast interest growing and values following.

This example has remained with one owner from new and has covered just 13,239 miles. Its original owner flew to Vermont to purchase the car and drove it home, stopping at Alfa Romeo Ottawa, the closest Alfa dealer to his home, for its first service at just 353 miles.

Finished in Black over Black Racing Leather and Microfiber, the car was ordered with the $2,300 Coupe Track Package, $2,000 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Group, $2,000 Racing Leather and Microfiber seats, $2,500 dark fan-spoke wheels, and $1,500 factory front paint protection film. Original MSRP was $73,245.

The car has remained under a factory Mopar extended warranty and currently needs nothing. It has no known damage, and even the underside of the front bumper remains free of scrapes from years of careful driving.

It is accompanied by two keys, its factory red car cover, OEM battery charger, owner's manual, original brochure, front license plate mount, and complete service records. The original timing belt has been retained following its replacement. A Valentine One radar detector is discreetly hardwired into the cockpit.
